    Experience

    Deep River Contracting JV (DRCJV) was incorporated in 2017 and is a self-performing aboriginal industrial/ civil contractor. Our President Dwayne Hounsell has over 30 years of experience as an aboriginal contractor. Our industry-leading management team combined with over 60 years of experience in the Construction Industry.

Project environmental planning includes identifying and complying with all applicable approvals, permits, authorizations and notifications. The project Environmental Construction Operations (ECO) Plan ensures that all environmental aspects are addressed at the field level.

Community Engagement

Deep River Contracting JV (DRCJV) in conjunction with SaskPower hosted a Community Engagement Event at the Nekaneet First Nation in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. Our event was attended by the Nekaneet band members, members from the community, Chinook School District, Great Plains College and SaskPower.

    Seeding

    When we are working on disturbed areas we will seed the soil and stabilize the ground to counteract any erosion influences, by doing this we prevent and control erosion.

    We have access to cranes to provide support in moving equipment and material through the job site.

    Demolition

    We can safely demolish buildings, roads, bridges and any structure that is old and unsafe. We do an extensive hazard assessment to ensure the safety of everyone on site as well as the integrity of the land and area(s).

    HDPE Piping

    We use high density polyethylene piping system for the transfer of fluid and gas. We use these plastic pipes to replace aging concrete and steel pipelines when necessary.

    Landscaping

    We will sod, install retaining walls, plant trees and shrubs when needed.

    Labour Supply

    We supply and have our own fleet we also have our own skilled labour team of local workers.

    Structural Steel

    We do steel fabrication in-house to allow for quick turnaround time and value added on each construction site we are apart of.

    Underground Utilities

    We provide an array of underground work including but not limited to: utility pipelines, HDPE pressure piping, carbon steel pressure piping, concrete gravity flow piping, manholes, catch basins for storm sewer, and electrical power systems.

    Ice Road Construction

    We seasonally do ice road construction during the winter months. For the transportation of people, material and supplies.

    Clearing and Grubbing

    We will remove and dispose of any trees, stumps, roots, grass, weeds and anything else that is in the right-of-way of the construction site. As well as anything that has be staked out by the engineer.

    General Maintenance

    From cleaning common areas, site clean ups, painting road lines and everything in between we provide an array of services that can help your needs.

    Fencing and Gate Access

    Depending on the scope and the location of the job fencing and gate access will be necessary. We determine this beforehand and have everything in line and ready to go before the construction begins.

    Construction of Access Roads

    For each job site to be able to successfully deliver and take away material to and from the job site we construct a temporary access road.

    Culvert Supply and Installation

    We supply and install corrugated steel pipes and sometimes concrete underneath a road or approach at ditch level to allow for water run off underneath the roads surface.

    Electrical and Instrumentation

    For any electrical and instrumentation needs we would do the construction management for work like that. Furthermore, we would sub out the performance of the work but act as a general contractor to manage and oversee the work that is being done.

    Concrete Base Foundations

    We self-perform our concrete and formworks. We will do the footings, walls, pouring of the concrete pads as well as anything else concreted related to ensure the structure is stabilize, setting the site up for a good foundation.

    Detail Excavation and Backfill

    We provide hydrovacs when necessary to ensure accuracy and detailed excavations. As well has able to put the soil or rock back into the trench or foundation that we excavated.

    Matting Services

    We when need to transport construction or operational maintenance throughout a project we supply matting to ensure the easy transportation of equipment and material needed during pipeline construction.

    Site Reclamation

    We will fix up the land, remediation, prevention of environmental damage, and returning it to its original state that is acceptable and functioning.

    Common Services

    We have a great history with long and successful contracts with common services. We can provide painting, janitorial, transportation and hauling of materials, traffic control, dust control, drone services, and aerial imagery as well as so much more.

    Equipment Rentals

    Deep River owns their own selection of fleet. From bulldozers to packers, skid steers, hydrovacs, excavators, rock trucks, and commercial vehicle we have access to the equipment that will help us get the job done on any construction site.

    Turnarounds require a smooth and timely maintenance schedule. We offer support in each phase of a facilities shutdown. We help with the extensive planning and steps required to make for a successful experience.

    Mechanical Piping

    We provide the resources for the design, engineering, estimation and the safety installation of piping and an array of systems. Depending on the needs we have pressure reducing valves, chambers, air releases etc.
